Lesvos will welcome the UNESCO Committee of Geoparks Experts from 10 to 15 September 2021, who will evaluate the Lesvos Geopark in order to maintain the recognition as a "UNESCO Global Geopark". This extremely important distinction is valid for four years. All Global Geoparks participate in the evaluation process, which is under the supervision of UNESCO.
