Discover the Geosites of Lesvos through the effort of the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest of recording, mapping, interpreting, promoting and presenting the sites that are characterized as geosites - geological monuments. Its aim is to inform and raise awareness to locals and visitors about the recognition of Lesvos as an UNESCO Global Geopark.

The Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest welcomes the new year by "illuminating" the building externally, not just for the holiday period, but for the whole year sending a message of optimism during this difficult period. Especially this year, which marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Museum, the facade lighting highlights the architectural shell within the natural environment and makes it a reference point in the night landscape of the village of Sigri.

The Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest presented the actions of promoting the natural heritage of Lesvos and Lemnos during the International Online Conference on: "The role of Geomorphology in Modern Society" organized by the Committee of Geomorphology and Environment of the Geological Society of Greece, on Wednesday 16 December 2020, with more than 100 participation of scientists, professors of Greek and foreign Universities and young researchers from Greece, Italy, Croatia, Romania and India.
