Webinar "UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARKS"

With great success and more than 200 participants from all over Greece the Webinar UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARKS took place on Friday 27th November.

The main goal was to connect all teachers and educators of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network in Greece with the Greek Unesco Global Geoparks.

Opening remarks were addressed by Ms S. Zacharaki, Deputy Minister of Education and Ms E. Tzitzikosta, President of the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO.

Professor N. Zouros, President of the Global Geoparks Network welcomed the participants. The speakers focused on the role of Geoparks as educational tools for sustainability, the presentation of the various educational activities implemented by the Greek Unesco Global Geoparks, the role of education in the implementation of the 17 SDGs and the results of the collaboration of the two Unesco Networks in the framework of Education 2030.
