Birdwatching excursions and bird-ringing in the protected area of the Gulf of Gera

The Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest and the aiming to promote the acquaintance of the public with the natural wealth of Lesvos Geopark, invite you to bird watching excursions this weekend in the protected area of the Gulf of Gera (Natura 2000 network).

Mαny migratory birds had already left the island for Africa. This is the period though to observe the birds that are passing through the island in their way towards south places and the Mediteranean coast. The wetland of Gera (Dipi-Larsos swamp) is a very good area to observe this phenomenon (observation of birds with binoculars and a telescope) but also to be participate in bird-ringing!

Birdwatching excursions and bird-ringing will take place on:

Saturday 23 October 2021, 09:00-12:00 (2 groups of 10 participants at 09:00 and 10:30)

Sunday 24 October 2021, 09:00-12:00 (2 groups of 10 participants at 09:00 and 10:30)
